Sol Crespo

(she/her)

Sol Marina Crespo is originally from the mountains of Caimito Alto, Puerto Rico. She double majored in Drama and Latin American Studies at New York University. As an actor, Sol has worked with countless theatre companies such as Oregon Shakespeare Festival; American Globe Theatre; Pregones/Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre; Pittsburgh Public Theatre; PittsStages; Atlantic Theatre and many more. She has worked with Steven Soderbergh, John Leguizamo, Tony Plana, Rubén Blades, Miriam Colón and has appeared on Hulu, Amazon, CBS All Access, and NBC, among others. 

She has led performance and writing workshops at Pittsburgh University, Lehman College in the Bronx and Teatro Breve in Puerto Rico. She is an audition coach with Put Me On Self Tape and facilitator for The New Triple Threat. 

As a writer she has written one act plays, sketches, and a web series, Public Service, produced by PitchHer Productions. She is a second-round finalist for Sundance Episodic Labs. Other awards: NYFA Fellowship in Screenwriting (2019); The Eben Demarest Trust by The Pittsburgh Foundation (2016); Person of the Year by NYTheatre.com (2012); Ford Foundation Fellowship for Career Advancement (2007) and the HOLA Award for Outstanding Performance of a Featured Actress (2005).
